ENJOYING NATURE

One morning, Bubby gathered the the kids and me around a window. "Look on the fence," he said. And there, sitting ever-so-quietly, enjoying his/her breakfast of baby bird was a hawk. The hawk plucked out all of the feathers before gulping down its meal. Truly a treat to watch Way Down In Mayberry.

Happy Love Thursday!

It's Liz from I Speak of Dreams way down in California.

There's a raptor nest below my house (I live on a hillside). OK, my eyes are older'n dirt, and I don't have a telescope, but I can see Ma & Pa Birdly Predator bringing goodies down to [unseen, but dang they shriek] young'uns.

What I want to know is, how come I have more than the usual amount of ground-burrowing varmints around the joint?

Oh, and did you see the bear on moose video?

Warning: gruesome:

Liz-That video was gruesome...but absolutely amazing to watch.

How cool that you can watch the raptor. Get yourself a good pair of binoculars and really enjoy the show. It's rare you know!

That is pretty cool little nature lesson for the kids. I never thought about about how they ate their pray but now that you say what happened I think, "hum, intersting I never knew but wanted to know!" LOL Funny how that works. Cool picture also... I am just curious how you got all the little people in your house to stay quiet long enough... my house would be full of shreiking "Mama! Burt! Mama! Birt!" with pointing fingers against the window. LOL
