RED-EYE EASTER

There is something about Easter that evokes an unprecedented excitement among the children. Sure, there's excitement around Christmas, but nothing compared to Easter. Maybe it's the promise of Spring, maybe it's their little Easter outfits, or maybe......just maybe it's the dyeing Easter eggs, going on Easter hunts, and the inevitable chocolate Easter bunny that awaits them on Sunday morning.

This year, the kids woke up promptly at 4:12 am. We know this because the baby monitor turned on in the basement told us so. First there were whispers waking up the other kids that that the Easter bunny had come. After Bubby went down to the basement to assure the children that there was no way in hell that we were getting up in the pitch black of morning to gorge on marshmallow chicks, things quieted down.

Just as I was dozing off to dreamland, I heard Christian say to the other kids on the monitor to check your watches every 15 minutes. Sigh..........

After a morning of fun, we traveled over to Uncle V's house for some terrific food complete with a genuine Virginia Ham flown in for the occasion. Delicious! By the time the kids found more eggs, ate ice cream and cake and finished off their chocolate....they were on an amazing glucose high.

Need I say more?
