MOM'S BIG FAILURE

If I could have one wish from the magic Genie, it would be to have a laundry fairy. I hate hate hate doing laundry (especially for six people). Sorting, washing, drying, folding, hanging, ironing and putting it all away on a three level home just bites the big one.

I'm ashamed to admit this, but MeMa does the majority of my families laundry. If she's at my house, she will put a few loads on while watching the kids. If she's going to her house, she loads up bags upon bags in her car and takes them home to wash. Sometimes I don't know if MeMa has an obsession with clean laundry or she just feels sorry for me. My guess would be the latter.

To tell you the truth, I'm not really concerned if the kids are wearing underwear or if Leroy's wearing the same shirt for three days in a row. Maybe that makes me a terrible Mom.

Sometimes I get sweet satisfaction out of not doing my wifely/motherly laundering. When Bubby doesn't have any clean underwear, he just goes out and buys more. If Bubby buys six new pairs of boxers, when I DO get around to the laundry.....I throw six perfectly good pair of boxers from the Gap in the garbage. This is my own little way of saying...."Umm, could you possibly learn how to turn on the washer and actually wash your own underwear that you so desperately need?"

Oh, I am very well aware that LAUNDRY is somewhere in the "stay-at-home-Mom job description". Just most days, I am not up to the task.

So I guess in a way, I do have a laundry fairy. Her name is MeMa and I am so grateful for her laundry kindness.

cadence:

When the laundry's five foot high
Then it's time to do or die
Pile it into me-ma's rig
Really laundry's nothing big
Sound Off wash wash
Sound off dry dry
Sound off wash wash dry dry
IT'S DONE
