If you are not familiar with Vegans and what they eat, let me take a moment to share with you what they don't eat:
*Meat (or anything that has meat products or broth or is made from a derivative of an animal)
*Dairy (this includes any milk coming from an animal, butter, sour cream, cheese...you get the picture)
*Eggs (they come from an animal dumb shit)
If you know me at all, you understand my love of food. It is apparent on my Facebook page because I have more pictures of food in my albums than I do of my own children. Mouthgasms are my only goal on a daily basis.
But after reading the book, "Eat to Live" by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, I thought I would try his eating lifestyle for 6 weeks. Six weeks is a piece of egg-less, frosting-less, cake. I can do this! Dr. Fuhrman is not some "save the whales freak" or animal rights activist, he's a doctor who believes that what Americans eat is killing us and has study after study to back up his findings.
Just finishing week one. Looking good, feeling strong. Working out.
I have a feeling by week 5 though, I may be looking like the Zombie pictured above (with a hotter body of course.)

Good luck with that...
Now where the hell is my burger?
zombies are hot!!
Wow. I admire your attempt!
I'll probably be struck dead just for saying this, but honestly? I think a life without cheese or icecream is not life worth living.
Have you seen the movie Food Inc? Very, very good movie. Should be required viewing for everyone in this country over the age of about 10.
Keep us posted on your experiment! And I want to be your FB friend!
Finding it easy or just like that you feel better? I sincerely find this interesting. I could probably do this if i could have ice cream but that is milk and eggs isn't it? okay never mind.
on a serious note - i do believe we have so many illness today from the hormones and chemicals added to our animals that we eat.
Candice-I have a textured vegetable protein burger right here for topped with soy cheese and vegan mayo.
Carlos-I agree ;)
Kate - I have that movie in my Roku. Haven't watched it yet but now I have a great reason to. You said so!
Peggy-It's a good thing I don't like ice-cream or sweets so much.
This is how I'm going to do it...
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, totally worn out and screaming 'WOOO HOOOOO what a ride!'
Jodi - YES! You totally get the idea of living! Six weeks won't kill me though. I have to be able to set goals and put restrictions on myself, even for a short time. It's a penance per say. Coz you know, I am a hedonist at heart.
Food Inc is AWESOME! I have been preaching certain aspects of healthy eating to my friends and loved ones for years but this movie actually inspired them to make changes.
You can feel the respect for me...
I cannot do soy. BARF. My sister likes Almond milk and Rice milk. I've heard coconut milk is good (at least cooked in jasmine rice it is!)
I admire you, T. Let me know when the weight starts falling off and I'll jump in your wagon :)
Um I love food, vegs and meat and all the stuff in the middle. All in moderation sometimes!
Jenn-Will be watching the movie this weekend with the family.
Um yeah, I'll let you know when the weight starts falling off...HA!
Mama Wheaton-Yes, moderation is good.
Hey I'm trying to "go vegan" too! I feel awesome! Hope it works for you too! : )
