THE BATTLE OF WHITE

When we purchased our contemporary home three years ago, it came with a lot of white. As I have posted before about my white bathrooms and my quest to keep them clean and hair-free and how I have failed miserably, I will now talk about carpet.

I hate carpet.

Any kind of carpet.

Maybe I hate carpet because I have terrible allergies. Maybe I hate carpet because I currently have 4 dogs, 4 cats and 4 kids. I don't know. All I know is that I was freaking-ass-rubber-wall-crazy when I thought that we could embrace white carpet. I am not shitting you when I say that our entire third level of our home had beautiful, white, super soft and cushy-under-the-feet shag carpet.

After three years and several carpet cleanings, the cleaning companies gave up. They said, "Whatever the hell you are doing to this carpet is not coming out in our cleaning process. The last time we had this problem was cleaning the carpet from a home that was a Meth lab."

Great.

Here is my BEFORE picture of our stairs. Notice there is no white in this carpet. It is totally gray and disgusting.

Makes you want to puke doesn't it?

Here is our AFTER picture of our stairs......

Fabulous transformation! And the rest of the upstairs is done in that lovely cork that you saw under my Moon Boots Slippers in a former post.

Getting rid of the white......one project at a time. What's your latest home project?

I LOVE those stairs! Gorgeous. Reminds me of a Mexico resort we stayed in and now I want to come hang out at your house cuz no way in hell are we taking our babies to Mexico.

Oh, and to hang out with you and your awesome family.

We can sit on the stairs!

I'm jealous. I've never been to Mexico. Bubby says we could never take the kids because they wouldn't let us take Christian back to the U.S.

You can come and hang out with my family anytime. Open invitation. Seriously!

The stairs are gorgeous! I'm not a fan of carpeting. So much so, in fact, that I intend to remove mine (throughout) and lay down some laminate (or even real wood) flooring this year. Currently my only tagged home project of the new year.

Hi Tallulah, the stairs look FAB! We ripped out our horrid blue carpet (we didn't pick it!) that came in our home, and Steve installed GORGEOUS laminate. We also gutted our kitchen, and installed new cabs, and Steve will be laying granite tile! I LOVE home remodeling, and steve looks so butch when he is being Mr. Builder!

Kisses...

Kendoll!

Mistress-our last house had laminate wood floors throughout...I loved it! Especially with kids and animals.

Kendoll - Steve naked in a toolbelt? Gives me lots of tingly-winglies between the thighs. But seriously...Steve butch? heh heh

My latest home improvement project is to go around and meticulously fix all the shit everyone has ruined over the past 4 years. We've got a door someone kicked in and cracked, a light cover over the shower someone put back all skeewompus after changing the light bulb and then the new bulb melted the light cover, and numerous towel bars and toilet paper holders that were swung from and ripped out the wall. Glamerous stuf, no?
